Description
Hytrans HydroSub 150 with DAF Diesel Engine
General Description
The Hytrans HydroSub 150 is a mobile high-volume pumping system designed for the rapid extraction and transfer of large quantities of water. It is intended for applications such as large-scale firefighting, industrial emergencies, emergency water supply and other operations requiring a high and reliable water flow.
The HydroSub 150 consists of a diesel-hydraulic pumping unit powered by a DAF diesel engine and a hydraulically driven floating submersible pump.
Operating Principle
The HydroSub 150 uses a floating submersible pump that is placed directly into the water source. Suitable water sources include canals, rivers, harbours, lakes and large water reservoirs.
The DAF diesel engine drives the hydraulic system. Hydraulic lines transfer the power from the main unit to the submersible pump positioned in the water.
Because the pump itself is located directly in the water source, the water does not first have to be drawn through a conventional suction line. This provides fast and reliable water extraction, including at locations where the positioning of a conventional pump may be difficult.
Technical Specifications
Manufacturer: Hytrans Systems
Model: HydroSub 150
Type: Mobile high-volume pumping system
Engine: DAF six-cylinder diesel engine
Drive system: Diesel-hydraulic
Pump: Hydraulically driven floating submersible pump
Pump Performance
This specific HydroSub 150 has two important operating points:
3,000 litres per minute at 8 bar
7,000 litres per minute at 2 bar
At 8 bar, the unit can deliver approximately 3,000 litres of water per minute. This operating point is suitable when both a high water flow and a higher delivery pressure are required.
At 2 bar, the capacity can reach approximately 7,000 litres per minute. This operating point is intended for applications where the main requirement is the transfer of a very large volume of water.
Actual performance during operation depends on factors such as elevation, required outlet pressure, pipeline resistance and conditions at the water source.
Applications
The HydroSub 150 can be used for applications including:
- Large-scale firefighting
- Industrial and petrochemical incidents
- Cooling operations
- Open-water extraction
- Emergency water supply
- High-volume water transfer
- Flood and dewatering support
Summary
The Hytrans HydroSub 150 with DAF diesel engine is a powerful and self-contained pumping system designed for extracting and transferring large quantities of water.
Its diesel-hydraulic drive and floating submersible pump allow water to be taken directly from an open water source.
The main performance figures for this particular unit are:
3,000 l/min at 8 bar
7,000 l/min at 2 bar
These two operating points allow the same HydroSub 150 to be used both for applications requiring higher delivery pressure and for operations where maximum water flow is the primary requirement.
